RRI.CO.ID, Bogor - The Faldo Series Indonesia presented by Birdie Bandits officially wrapped up the final rounds of two categories: the Faldo Junior Tour and the Faldo Future Tour. The event took place at Gunung Geulis Country Club (West Course) in Bogor, West Java, on Sunday, February 8, 2026.
In the Faldo Junior Tour, four divisions produced four champions across different age groups. The decisive final round not only crowned winners but also determined Indonesia’s representatives for upcoming international competitions.
In Boys U-21, North Sumatra’s Kifata Aftar, 18, emerged victorious by a single stroke over Kenneth Henson Sutianto from Jakarta. Kenneth led through the first seven holes, but a double bogey and bogey on the closing holes of the front nine allowed Kifata to seize control. He finished with a total score of 216 (+3), edging Kenneth at 217.
“I didn’t check the live score at all today and never expected to win. I just played safe and trusted the process,” said Kifata.
In Boys U-16, East Java’s William Justin Wijaya delivered a standout performance with a final-round 69 (-2), securing the title with a total score of 213 (even par). He finished one shot ahead of Yujun Cha (Sim’s Academy) and Fadhlan Azzam Atmajah (North Sumatra).
“The key today was staying calm under pressure, especially on the closing holes,” William noted.
In Girls U-21, National golfer Sania Talita Wahyudi claimed the championship despite admitting she struggled in the final round. Her total score of 218 (+5) kept her comfortably ahead of the field.
“The course was tougher because of the rain, but I’m grateful I managed to stay steady. I’m happy to win and qualify for the Faldo Series Asia in Vietnam,” Sania said.
In Girls U-16, West Java’s Elevania Nurfasha dominated with a total score of 233 (+20), finishing 13 strokes clear of Freya Julia Davania from North Sumatra.
Meanwhile, the Faldo Future Tour also concluded, producing six winners across three boys’ and girls’ age divisions. Champions and runners-up from this category will advance to the Futures Final at The Belfry, England.
Chairman of Birdie Bandits, Agung Budiman, emphasized the tournament’s role in nurturing junior golf in Indonesia.
“We are committed to hosting the Faldo Series for the next three years and continuously learning to deliver high-quality international junior events,” he stated. (Diffa Sephiawardhani/Sri Wahyuni)
