RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Government of Indonesia strongly condemned the continued attacks carried out by Israel in the Gaza Strip, Palestine, including the latest attack on Saturday, 31 January 2026, which was deemed a violation of the ceasefire agreement. Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through its official X account @Kemlu_RI, on Sunday,1 February 2026, stated that the Israeli attacks targeted civilian areas and public facilities in the Gaza Strip.

“Indonesia strongly condemns Israel’s repeated attacks in the Gaza Strip, including the latest attack on 31 Januari 2026, which targeted civilian areas and public facilities. Such actions constitute a violation of the ceasefire agreement currently in effect,” the Ministry stated.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also urged Israel to fulfil its obligations and respect the agreed ceasefire. According to the Ministry, unilateral violations not only exacerbate the suffering of civilians in Gaza, but also undermine trust and hamper efforts to achieve stability and a sustainable political settlement.

Meanwhile, local authorities in Gaza reported that at least 32 Palestinians were killed as a result of the Israeli airstrikes. The attacks were reported to have occurred in several areas across the Gaza Strip, including Khan Younis in the southern part of the territory.

Palestinian residents described the strikes as the most intense since the second phase of the ceasefire came into effect earlier this month. The ceasefire was mediated by United States President Donald Trump in October 2025.

The Israeli military confirmed it had carried out the airstrikes, stating that the action was taken in response to alleged ceasefire violations by Hamas. In an official statement, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated eight individuals were identified emerging from underground terror infrastructure in eastern Rafah, an area where Israeli forces are deployed.

The IDF, together with the Israel Security Agency (ISA), also claimed to have struck weapons depots, weapons manufacturing sites, and two launch sites belonging to Hamas in central Gaza. On the other hand, Hamas strongly condemned the Israeli airstrikes and urged the United States to take immediate action.

Hamas stated the repeated attacks were evidence that the Israeli government continues what it described as a brutal genocidal war against the Gaza Strip.
