RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) is expanding its humanitarian support for Palestinians through long-term development initiatives and direct aid to refugees affected by conflict.

The agency recently strengthened its partnership with international humanitarian organization 4TDK to improve the delivery of sustainable programs in Palestine and Gaza. The cooperation will focus on education, infrastructure recovery, and community empowerment.

"We continue to express our concern and solidarity with the Palestinian people, especially those facing difficult conditions in Gaza," BAZNAS distribution and empowerment chief Idy Muzayyad said on Monday, June 22, 2026, as quoted on the agency's official website.

Among the planned initiatives are scholarship programs that would enable Palestinian students to pursue higher education in Indonesia.

The partnership builds on previous cooperation during Ramadan, when BAZNAS channeled around IDR 3 billion (USD 184,000) through 4TDK for humanitarian programs, including shelter tents, mosque facilities, and iftar meals.

In a separate development, BAZNAS distributed Eid al-Adha sacrificial meat to around 6,700 Palestinian refugees living in camps in Syria's Idlib province through its Palestine Qurban Program.

The aid, sourced from 200 sheep, was delivered to refugee camps in the Hazano and Sarmada areas between May 27 and 29.

BAZNAS Chairman Sodik Mudjahid said the program reflected the solidarity of Indonesians with Palestinians facing prolonged humanitarian challenges.

Both BAZNAS and its partners said they will continue expanding humanitarian assistance to ensure Indonesian donations reach Palestinian communities effectively and create lasting benefits. ***
