KBRN, Magelang: The Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, urged sub-national government to establish creative economy offices in their respective regions to enhance the local creative economy ecosystem and improve community welfare. He made this statement during his address as a speaker at the Sub-National Government Retreat held at the Magelang Military Academy in Central Java, Thursday (27/2/2025).

“Sub-National Government play a crucial role in establishing creative economy offices to drive regional economic growth and create quality job opportunities,” Riefky emphasized, as quoted in his official statement.

In his presentation, Riefky highlighted the creative economy as a key pillar in national economic development, starting at the regional level. He also underscored the vision of the Prabowo-Gibran administration, “Bersama Indonesia Maju Menuju Indonesia Emas 2045,” which prioritizes the creative economy within the Asta Cita framework.

“The creative economy is essential in driving national economic growth from the regional level. Toward a Golden Indonesia 2045, the creative economy is prioritized in fostering national independence,” Riefky explained.

He further emphasized the sector's immense potential in boosting regional revenues and generating high-quality employment opportunities. The government has set ambitious targets to increase the creative economy's contribution to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and regional income.

“The Ministry of Creative Economy has identified 17 priority subsectors, including culinary, crafts, fashion, and fine arts. We must leverage this potential to enhance regional income and create quality jobs,” he stated.

Riefky also stressed the importance of cross-sector collaboration to stimulate the growth of the creative economy. He introduced the Hexahelix concept, which involves the government, financial institutions, media, academia, associations, and the business sector, as the central strategy for building a globally competitive creative economy.

“Collaboration with various stakeholders, including the government, financial institutions, media, academia, associations, and the business sector, is vital to developing a globally competitive creative economy,” he added.

The Magelang Retreat, which ran from February 21 to 28, 2025, aimed to strengthen the regional leaders' understanding of their roles, responsibilities, and authorities, while aligning local policies with the national development vision. Along with discussions on the creative economy, the retreat also deepened participants’ understanding of the Asta Cita, the five foundational principles for building a strong and prosperous nation.
