RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian government boosts the competitiveness of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) by expanding the tourism sector and enhancing the digital ecosystem. The initiative forms part of the government’s Quick Win Programs (PHTC) aimed at promoting more inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

The commitment was highlighted during a press conference on the Quick Win Programs at the Communication Agency Office (Bakom) in Jakarta on Wednesday July 15, 2026. Indonesia's Minister of Tourism, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, said the Karisma Event Nusantara (KEN) program has generated significant economic benefits for tourism destinations and local MSMEs across the country.

She explained that the 2026 edition of Karisma Event Nusantara features 125 regional events held across all 38 provinces of Indonesia. As of June 30, 2026, a total of 39 events had been organized, with 28 already evaluated.

Karisma Event Nusantara consists of 125 regional events across 38 provinces. As of June 30, 2026, 39 events had been held, and 28 of them have already been evaluated,” the Minister said.

According to her, the 28 evaluated events attracted approximately 2.46 million domestic and international visitors. The events also involved more than 7,200 MSMEs, created employment for over 61,000 workers, artists, and community members, and generated an estimated economic impact of Rp196.97 billion.

Meanwhile, Communication Agency Deputy III Kurnia Ramadhana said the government is also strengthening support for MSMEs through regulations that prioritize domestic products on digital platforms. The policy is expected to expand market access while improving the competitiveness of local businesses in the digital economy.

“This regulation not only establishes obligations for business operators, but also provides support and affirmative measures to help MSMEs enhance their competitiveness on digital platforms, Kurnia said. He added that the measures include prioritizing the visibility of locally made products in search and recommendation systems, improving market access, and providing promotional discounts, advertising incentives, and other support for MSMEs selling domestic products.

The government expects the combination of tourism-driven economic activities and a stronger digital ecosystem to create broader business opportunities for MSMEs while increasing their contribution to the national economy. The integrated approach is also expected to enhance the global competitiveness of Indonesian local products and support sustainable economic development.
