Two Major 2026 Tourism Events in Riau Islands Set to Take Place

RRI.CO.ID, Riau – Riau Islands Province will host two major tourism events namely Kemilau Nusantara Kepri 2026 and Penyengat Heritage 2026. The Province has finalized some technical and non-technical preparations in detail.
The Regional Secretary of the Riau Islands Province, Misni, led a meeting to finalize the implementation of the province’s two major tourism events for 2026 at the Riau Islands Provincial Government Building in Tanjungpinang on Tuesday, June 9, 2026. She stated that synergy among all agencies has been essential from the very beginning.
“I hope that all parties involved can align their perspectives and strengthen coordination so that the implementation of the activities proceeds as expected,” she said.
The Kemilau Nusantara Kepri 2026 event will be held on June 13–15, 2026, in the Laman Gurindam XII area, specifically in front of the LAM Building in Tanjungpinang City. Meanwhile, Penyengat Heritage 2026 will take place on June 19–21, 2026, in the courtyard of the Balai Adat on Penyengat Island.
This year’s Kemilau Nusantara Kepri 2026 features the theme “Penyengat Island: A Bridge Across Generations,” which aligns with the event’s location, which overlooks Penyengat Island. Various activities are planned for the event, including the Nusantara Kepri Cultural Tourism Parade, Nusantara Kepri Creative Dance, Kepri Malay Creative Dance, performances by local music groups, traditional Malay music performances, Nusantara cultural performances, and a group viewing of the 2026 World Cup.
Meanwhile, Penyengat Heritage 2026 carries the theme “Regeneration Lifestyle Tourism” and will feature a variety of cultural, artistic, environmental, and creative economy activities. Activities to be held include the Penyengat International Gasing Festival, the Penyengat Creative Dance Festival, the Penyengat Indra Sakti Jong Festival, the Penyengat Malay Dance Performance, the Malay Traditional Games Village, mangrove planting and the Indonesia Asri Kepri Movement, the Penyengat Bazaar Fair, and a group viewing of the 2026 World Cup at the Pulau Penyengat Traditional Hall.
Head of the Riau Islands Provincial Tourism Office, Hasan, explained that the two events are expected to attract around 3,000 visitors, including local, domestic, and international tourists. He also hopes these events will have a positive economic impact on the community.
“In addition to increasing the number of tourist visits to the Riau Islands, these two events are also expected to generate significant economic benefits for the community, particularly in Tanjungpinang City as the host city,” Hasan stated.
