RRI.CO.ID, Klaten - Indonesia will host the 44th International Veteran Cycling Association (IVCA) Rally 2026 in Klaten, Central Java. The event will take place from Tuesday to Saturday, May 20-24, 2026.

The rally will be held around the Prambanan Temple area under the theme “From Klaten to the World.” Organizers also introduced the subtheme “Cycling with Tradition, Inspiring the World.”

The IVCA is a global organization founded in 1981 for classic and antique bicycle enthusiasts worldwide. The organization promotes bicycle heritage and preserves cycling history as part of global culture.

Indonesia will become the first Southeast Asian country to host the prestigious vintage bicycle gathering. The event is expected to attract cycling communities and cultural enthusiasts from many countries.

The rally will also promote Indonesia’s cultural identity and long-standing cycling traditions to international participants. Organizers believe bicycles remain closely connected with Indonesian community life and local heritage.

Klaten Regency is selected because of its strong cultural character and strategic location in Central Java. The area connects Yogyakarta and Solo while preserving rich Javanese traditions and historical sites.

Prambanan Temple will become the main landmark during the international cycling event in Indonesia. The UNESCO World Heritage site represents Indonesia’s historical legacy and cultural richness.

The IVCA Rally has previously been hosted by the United Kingdom, Belgium, Italy, Czech Republic, and France. Indonesia’s selection reflects growing global recognition of the country’s tourism and cultural potential.

The event is expected to bolster cultural exchanges and promote sustainable tourism through cycling heritage activities. The organizers also hope the rally encourages preservation of vintage bicycles and traditional cycling communities worldwide.
