RRI.CO.ID, Gianyar - Bali Spirit Festival (BSF) extended Indonesia's position in global wellness industry. Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri Wardhana made the statement during her visit to the event in Gianyar, Bali on Sunday, 19, 2026.

Held from 15 to 19 April 2026, the festival attracted international participants. The event demonstrated Indonesia’s ability to host world-class wellness experiences supported through national programs.

“I appreciate the Bali Spirit Festival 2026 and am pleased to experience its energy firsthand, showing Indonesia can deliver world-class events,” Widiyanti said. The minister also affirmed that the festival proved Indonesia could bring a world-class intellectual property event.

In Tourism Ministry's press release, Bali Spirit Festival 2026 is recognized as a pioneer international yoga and wellness festival in Southeast Asia. This year’s theme “Welcome Home” integrates yoga, dance, music, and traditional healing practices.

The festival also promotes sustainability through reduced plastic usage and improved waste management systems. Organizers implemented composting toilets as part of environmentally friendly tourism practices.

During her visit, the minister reviewed key festival areas including media facilities and wellness exhibitions. She also explored culinary sections offering healthy and vegan food alongside various yoga sessions.

Data from the Global Wellness Institute in 2023 shows Indonesia leads Southeast Asia’s wellness economy sector. The country recorded a value of 56.4 billion United States dollars, ranking sixth across the Asia Pacific region.

The minister stated the festival aligns with national strategies promoting quality and sustainable tourism development. Wellness tourism is positioned as a key driver for economic value and long-term sector growth.

In 2025, the festival generated economic circulation reaching Rp6.7 billion across multiple sectors. These include accommodation, culinary services, employment opportunities, and cultural creative industries.

“As one of the largest international wellness events in Southeast Asia, participation from over 60 countries shows its growing global appeal,” Widiyanti said. The statement reflects increasing international recognition and broader market reach.

The visit concluded with discussions between the minister and event industry stakeholders in Ubud. The meeting aimed to strengthen collaboration between festival organizers and the Ministry of Tourism.
