RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesia’s mixed doubles pair Marwan Faza and Aisyah Salsabila Putri Pranata are taking a relaxed approach as they prepare to face Denmark’s Mathias Christiansen/Alexandra Boje in the round of 32 at the 2026 BWF World Championships in New Delhi on Wednesday, August 19.

Scheduled to play on Court 2 at 5:10 p.m. Jakarta time, the Indonesian duo advanced after defeating Serbia’s Mihajlo Tomic/Andjela Vitman in straight games, 21‑16, 21‑14, on Tuesday, August 18. Despite the win, Marwan admitted their confidence and mental composure still need strengthening.

“We have to rebuild our confidence and mindset. Technically we’re prepared, but on court I still felt unsettled,” Marwan said in a statement released by the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI), as quoted by Antara.

Aisyah added that meeting the Danish pair is an opportunity to play without pressure. “We just want to go nothing to lose because they are the favorites,” she noted.

The pair emphasized that preparation for the World Championships has focused not only on improving technical skills but also on mental resilience. Marwan expressed gratitude for coming through the opening match injury‑free, while Aisyah said she was surprised yet delighted to be competing at the prestigious event.

Marwan/Aisyah are among 14 Indonesian representatives contesting the round of 32 on Wednesday, aiming to extend their campaign at the tournament. ***
