RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesia’s woodball team reaffirmed its global dominance by clinching the overall senior title at the 2026 World Cup Woodball Championship in Perlis, Malaysia, from July 24–30.

The squad collected four golds, two silvers, and one bronze to top the medal standings, surpassing host Malaysia and Taiwan.

Indonesia’s victories included Moh. Habibullah in men’s singles stroke, Habibullah/Ahmad Yopi Solpianda in men’s doubles fairway, Bibit Setyaningati/Ika Yulianingsih in women’s doubles fairway, and the men’s fairway team event.

Silver medals came from Ika Yulianingsih in women’s singles stroke and Nur’izza Nova Mindayati/June C Ardiningrum in women’s doubles fairway, while the women’s stroke team secured bronze.

Beyond senior success, Indonesia also celebrated youth achievement. The duo Zukhfura Jasminne Verinda and Leandra Aliyyah Dahayu captured gold in the youth women’s doubles fairway, helping Indonesia finish fourth overall despite fielding only two athletes.

Indonesian Woodball Association (IWbA) Chairman Aang Sunadji praised the achievement, calling it proof of Indonesia’s strength in world woodball. “Becoming overall champion at the World Cup is not easy, as we faced the best nations. Even our young athletes showed quality by winning gold with limited numbers,” he said.

The triumph serves as momentum for Indonesia to sustain international success and strengthen athlete regeneration. Following the world championship, Indonesia will host the Indonesia Open 2026 at Udayana Cricket Field in Bali from August 18–23, further showcasing its growing role in the sport. ***
