RRI.CO.ID, Singapore - Indonesian mixed doubles pair Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto and Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja are back on the international circuit after a long absence. Rehan had been sidelined since suffering a left knee injury at the Macau Open in August 2025.

The duo expressed their excitement ahead of the Singapore Open 2026, aiming to regain their rhythm and prove their resilience. “First of all, alhamdulillah, I’m grateful to be back here, competing internationally again. The journey hasn’t been easy, so I’m trying to enjoy it and focus on the first match,” said Rehan.

“I’m happy because Rehan has shown remarkable progress and recovered quickly. We want to return with strong performances. Results are secondary, but we aim to play better than before,” Gloria added.

The 32-year-old shuttler emphasized their shared mission. “I feel there’s something unfinished with Rehan, so I told him, let’s complete this together and give our best.”

Rehan credited his recovery to the unwavering support of family, coaches, physiotherapists, and teammates. “They constantly reminded me why I needed to recover and strengthened my mindset. That gave me extra motivation to rise again,” he said.

The Indonesian squad has already arrived in Singapore and completed practice sessions at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. “Gloria, I myself, and the whole team are familiar with this venue, so adaptation isn’t too difficult. Today’s practice was about finding the right feeling,” Rehan explained.

The Singapore Open 2026, a prestigious BWF Super 750 event, runs from May 26–31 with a total prize pool of USD 1 million.
