RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian lead climbing athlete Nur Diatul Jannah is approaching the Asian Climbing Championships 2026 in Meishan, China, with optimism and focus, determined to secure her ticket to the Asian Games later this year.

The 22-year-old sport climber from Bangka Belitung said she is enjoying the challenge and concentrating on maximizing her own abilities rather than worrying about her opponents.

“My personal target is to climb according to my grade or capacity, because if I climb at my full capacity, the results will naturally be good in the end,” Nur Diatul said on Monday, April 6, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

She explained that her experience competing at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, serves as valuable preparation for the intense competition at the continental level.

At that time, she was selected directly by the Indonesian Climbing Federation (FPTI) without going through qualification. This year, however, she is determined to earn her place through performance.

“From my experience in Hangzhou, I already know the competition will be tough, so I just want to climb freely and calmly,” she added.

Currently a student at Wahid Hasyim University, Nur said she is following the training program designed by her coach without adding any personal routines.

She also highlighted the importance of family support in maintaining her confidence and mental strength.

Nur is one of two Indonesian women competing in the lead discipline at Meishan, where the team arrived on Monday morning. The Indonesian lead squad is scheduled to begin competition on Tuesday, April 7.

FPTI has sent 16 athletes to the Asian Championships, which also serve as qualifiers for the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. To qualify, speed climbers must finish in the top eight, while lead and boulder athletes must reach at least the top six.

Indonesia has already secured three spots: Putra Tri Ramadani in men’s lead, Sukma Lintang Cahyani in women’s lead, and Ravianto Ramadhan in men’s boulder.

For the speed discipline, Indonesia is represented by Veddriq Leonardo, Kiromal Katibin, Raharjati Nursamsa, Antasyafi Robby Al Hilmi, and Aditya Tri Syahria on the men’s side, while the women’s team includes Rajiah Sallsabillah, Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi, Kadek Adi Asih, and Berthdigna Devi Surya Kusuma.

In lead, the men’s roster features Musauwir, Mahesa Caesar, Muhammad Ramzi Firmansyah, Muhammad Rizky Syahrafli, and Raviandi Ramadhan, who will also compete in boulder. The women’s lead team consists of Nur Diatul Jannah and Alma Ariella Tsany.

With determination, composure, and valuable past experience, Nur is aiming to turn her climb in Meishan into a pathway toward representing Indonesia at the Asian Games 2026. ***
