RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia will open the 17th season of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series 2026, showcasing Bali’s dramatic landscapes while partnering with the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) to ensure world-class safety standards.

Naval Chief of Staff Admiral Muhammad Ali said in Jakarta on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, that the collaboration highlights Indonesia’s readiness and professionalism in hosting a global sporting event.

“With optimal security and operational support, Indonesia can demonstrate its capability as host of this prestigious competition,” he noted, as quoted by Antara.

The season opener will feature 24 athletes diving from two extreme locations: Kroya Waterfall in Sambangan Village, Buleleng Regency, and the iconic T-Rex Cliff at Kelingking Beach, Nusa Penida, Klungkung Regency, both known for their challenging natural settings -- from deep natural pools to the powerful waves of the Indian Ocean.

The Navy’s role extends beyond logistics. Its divers will join international rescue teams to safeguard athletes leaping from heights of up to 27 meters. Technical support will also cover ocean current readings, weather monitoring, and on-site readiness.

Beyond safety, organizers expect the event to deliver lasting economic and tourism benefits for Bali. Local administrations in Klungkung and Buleleng, along with the provincial administration, are backing the effort.

Bali Governor I Wayan Koster called it an honor for the island to host such a prestigious event. “Bali is ready to welcome athletes, officials, and visitors, offering not only competition but also the unique experience of our island’s beauty,” he said.

Following the Bali opener, the World Series will continue across several countries before concluding in Oman in November 2026. ***
