RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia's top Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) teams, Team Vitality and ONIC Esports, are set to begin their campaigns at the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid Season Cup (MSC) during the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2026 in Paris.
Both teams aim to secure early victories that could strengthen Indonesia's bid for another international esports title.
Team Vitality will be the first Indonesian representative in action, taking on India's True Rippers in the opening Group Stage match on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 7 p.m. Jakarta time, ONIC Esports will follow on Thursday, July 23, facing Entity7 at the same time, Antara reported.
Indonesia earned two spots at MSC 2026 after Team Vitality and ONIC Esports finished as champion and runner-up, respectively, in MPL Indonesia Season 17.
According to the official EWC website, the Group Stage runs from July 22-26 and features 16 teams divided into two groups of eight. The stage uses a double-elimination format, with all matches played as best-of-three (Bo3).
The top four teams from each group will advance to the Knockout Stage, while teams finishing fifth through eighth will be eliminated.
Victory in their opening matches would propel Team Vitality and ONIC directly into the Upper Bracket semifinals of the Group Stage. A loss, however, would relegate them to the Lower Bracket, forcing a tougher path where they must battle to keep their tournament hopes alive.
The opening day begins with Team Vamos facing Team Falcons MENA at 4 p.m., Jakarta time, followed by Team Falcons PH against Guangzhou Gaming at 5:30 p.m. Jakarta time. Team Vitality's clash with True Rippers starts at 7 p.m. Jakarta time before Team Spirit meets IGNITE Gaming at 8:30 p.m. Jakarta time.
On the second day, Selangor Red Giants will face Pro Esports at 4 p.m. Jakarta time, followed by Team Liquid against Aurora Gaming at 5:30 p.m. Jakarta time. ONIC's match against Entity7 is scheduled for 17 p.m. Jakarta time before Yangon Galacticos take on Geekay Esports at 8:30 p.m. Jakarta time.
The Knockout Stage is scheduled to begin on July 29, while the grand final will be held on August 1 in a best-of-seven (Bo7) format. ***
