RRI.CO.ID. Jakarta - Indonesian rising star Kiandra Ramadhipa is set to make his mark on the global stage as the 16-year-old racer joins the 2026 FIM Moto3 Junior World Championship, which kicks off on Tuesday, May 24.
According to the official FIM announcement on Wednesday, March 25, Kiandra has been listed among the provisional full-time riders for the season. Representing Honda Asia-Dream Racing Junior, he will compete against 29 other riders from around the world.
Kiandra stands out as the only Indonesian rider in the championship, with Asia represented by just five competitors: Yaroslav Karpushin (Kyrgyzstan), Seiryu Ikegami (Japan), Ryota Ogiwara (Japan), Kiattisak Singhapong (Thailand), and Kiandra himself.
The Moto3 Junior World Championship is widely regarded as a crucial steppingstone into the Moto3 category, part of the prestigious MotoGP ecosystem. For Kiandra, it represents both a challenge and an opportunity to follow in the footsteps of fellow Indonesian rider Veda Ega Pratama, who begins his Moto3 career in 2026.
Hailing from Yogyakarta, Kiandra has already built an impressive resume on the international circuit. In 2025, he finished fifth overall in the European Talent Cup, clinching two race victories despite being a debutant.
That same year, he secured eighth place in the Red Bull Rookies Cup, highlighted by a podium finish as runner-up in one race.
In the Red Bull Rookies Cup 2025, his compatriot Veda Pratama finished second overall, underscoring Indonesia’s growing presence in the global motorcycle racing scene.
The 2026 FIM Moto3 Junior World Championship calendar includes:
May 24 - Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit (Spain)
