RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia's Kiandra Ramadhipa strengthened his bid for the 2026 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup title after winning Race 2 at Germany's Sachsenring circuit, on Sunday, July 12, 2026, marking his second victory of the season and moving up to third in the championship standings.
The Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup is one of the world's premier junior motorcycle racing championships, serving as a pathway for young riders aspiring to reach Moto3, Moto2, and eventually MotoGP.
Starting from third on the grid, the 16-year-old rider from Sleman, Yogyakarta, made a strong launch and quickly settled into the leading group.
Ramadhipa engaged in an intense battle with David Gonzalez and Fynn Kratochwil throughout the race, exchanging the lead several times with Gonzales, Antara reported. Although he briefly dropped to third place, Ramadhipa regained the lead and maintained his advantage until Lap 14.
The race was halted after a crash involving Fernando Bujosa and Benat Fernandez. Race officials displayed the red flag and declared the final results based on the positions at the end of Lap 14.
The decision confirmed Ramadhipa as the Race 2 winner at Sachsenring. Yaroslav Karpushin finished second, while Fynn Kratochwil completed the podium in third place.
The victory marked Ramadhipa's second win of the 2026 season after also taking Race 2 at Jerez on April 26. He had finished fifth in Race 1 at Sachsenring on Saturday.
The 25 points earned from the victory lifted Ramadhipa's total to 101 points, moving him into third place in the overall Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup standings and keeping him firmly in contention for the 2026 championship title. ***
