RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Young Indonesian racer Veda Ega Pratama secured a second-row starting position for the 2026 Brazilian Moto3 Grand Prix after qualifying fourth at the Goiânia Circuit.
Veda, representing Honda Team Asia, recorded a best lap of 1 minute 26.506 seconds, just 0.265 seconds behind pole-sitter Joel Esteban, according to Antara.
He showed consistency from the free practice sessions through to qualifying. In FP1, Veda finished eighth, 1.673 seconds behind Brian Uriarte. His performance improved in FP2, where he broke into the top three and was only 0.050 seconds off the fastest time, earning a direct place in Q2.
The FP2 session was held on a dry track with temperatures around 31 degrees Celsius, where Veda clocked 1 minute 28.030 seconds before improving further in qualifying. The Moto3 session was briefly delayed by heavy rain but resumed under partly cloudy skies.
Esteban of the Level UP – MTA team claimed pole position with 1 minute 26.241 seconds. Valentin Perrone and Hakim Danish completed the front row. Veda will start from fourth, ahead of Marco Morelli and Brian Uriarte.
This marks an improvement from the previous round at the Thai GP, where Veda started fifth. The time gap between Veda and Danish was narrow at just 0.058 seconds, continuing their rivalry from the Red Bull Rookies Cup.
The starting grid for the Brazilian Moto3 GP places Esteban first, Perrone second, Danish third, Veda fourth, Morelli fifth, and Uriarte sixth. ***
