Indonesia's Veda Ega Posts Second-Fastest Time in Moto3 Hungary Practice Session

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian rider Veda Ega Pratama delivered an impressive performance by finishing second in the Moto3 Hungary 2026 practice session on Friday, June 5, 2026. The result also secured him a direct place in the Q2 qualifying session.

At the start of the session at Balaton Park Circuit, Veda posted a best lap time of 1 minute 48.829 seconds. The time was faster than his FP1 performance, where he finished at the bottom of the standings.

Despite the improvement, Veda initially trailed several front-runners. A number of riders managed to break into the 1 minute 46-second range.

Daniel Muñoz was the first rider to record a lap time of 1 minute 46.773 seconds, while Maximo Quiles also entered the same time bracket. Quiles later moved to the top of the standings, improving his lap time to 1 minute 46.638 seconds.

Veda continued to improve throughout the session. He posted a time of 1 minute 47.813 seconds, climbing to 11th place. The Honda Team Asia rider also surpassed the time set by Malaysian rider Hakim Danish, with only 0.010 seconds separating the two.

With 10 minutes remaining in the session, Veda was sitting in 14th place, the final automatic qualifying position for Q2. He then improved again, recording a lap time of 1 minute 46.567 seconds, which lifted him to second place in the practice standings.

No other rider managed to beat Veda's lap time before the session ended. He finished second behind Quiles, while David Almansa secured third place.

Moto3 Hungary qualifying is scheduled for Saturday, June 6, 2026, while the main race will take place on Sunday, June 7, 2026, local time. (Diffa Sephiawardhani)
