RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Meilysa Trias Puspitasari officially clinched the first semifinal berth for Indonesia at the Thailand Masters 2026 on Friday, January 30, 2026.

The duo secured their advancement to the final four to keep Indonesia's title hopes alive in the BWF Super 300 tournament. By stunning the top-seeded Taiwanese pair, Hsu Yin Hui/Lin Jhih Yun, in a straight-set victory at the Nimibutr Arena, the world-class pair demonstrated exceptional composure under pressure.

Quoting Antara, Ana/Trias needed 44 minutes to secure their first-ever victory over the world number 14 pair with a score of 21-13, 22-20. The victory was secured through a hard-fought battle, particularly in the second set where they trailed 18-20 before making a comeback.

During the first game, the match remained relatively balanced until the score reached 5-5. "In the first game, the match went relatively balanced until the score was 5-5," the report noted as the Indonesian pair eventually took control to lead by four points at the interval.

After the break, Ana and Trias widened the gap to 17-11 and continued to pressure their opponents to take the first game 21-13. Their dominance was largely defined by fast rallies and varied net play that troubled the Taiwanese pair.

The second game proved to be much tighter as both pairs traded points until a 10-10 deadlock. While the Indonesians held a slim lead at the interval, Hsu/Lin fought back to reach game point at 20-18.

Under significant pressure, Ana/Trias remained composed and successfully turned the tide by winning four consecutive points. This late surge allowed them to finish the match in straight sets without needing a decider.

This result confirms Ana/Trias as the first Indonesian representatives to reach the semifinals. They are now set to face the seventh seeds from China, Bao Li Jing/Li Yi Jung.

In addition to Ana/Trias, two other Indonesian pairs have the potential to create an "all-Indonesian" semifinal if they win their respective quarterfinal matches. Rachel Allessya Rose/Febi Setianingrum will face Japan's Kaho Osawa/Mia Tanabe, while Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti will meet the second-seeded Taiwanese pair Hsu Ya Ching/Sung Yu-Hsuan. ***
