RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia confirmed its place in the goalball final at the 2025 ASEAN Para Games in Thailand on Sunday, January 25, 2026, after delivering a dominant 10-3 victory over Myanmar in the semifinals, a result achieved through early attacking pressure and sustained control throughout both halves of the match.

The victory secured Indonesia at least a silver medal at the 13th edition of the ASEAN Para Games. The Indonesian team is scheduled to face host nation Thailand in the final today at 3:20 p.m. Jakarta time.

Head coach Muhammad Endra Sukmana said the team still had areas to improve despite the convincing win, particularly in defense and throwing accuracy, as they prepare to face a strong Thai side.

“Even though we won by a wide margin, there are still evaluations to be made, especially in defense and throwing accuracy, especially against a strong team like Thailand,” he said after the match, as quoted by Antara.

Indonesia opened the scoring early in the match, taking a 4-1 lead in the first 12-minute half. Satrio Choirul Usman scored the opening goal in the fourth minute, with a powerful and accurate throw from the right wing that Myanmar failed to stop.

Myanmar managed to score only once in the first half while trailing 1-2 before Indonesia extended its lead.

Indonesia maintained its dominance in the second half, continuing to pressure Myanmar’s defense. Team captain Arif Setiawan emerged as the standout player, scoring multiple goals. He also netted Indonesia’s 10th and final goal with a fast throw to the right corner of the goal in the 10th minute.

The match ended with a 10-3 victory for Indonesia. Arif Setiawan said the dominant win would help boost the team’s confidence ahead of the final against Thailand, especially after Indonesia suffered two defeats against the host nation during the preliminary round.

“It’s good for boosting the team’s mentality, but we still need to improve and fix our weaknesses, especially on the defensive side,” said Arif, the left winger.

Indonesia remains optimistic about its chances of winning the gold medal in the final. ***
