RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesia Masters 2026 tournament featured an intense match between Indonesia and Malaysia in the women’s doubles event. The Indonesian pair Nahya Muhyifa/Nabila Cahya Permata Ayu had to concede defeat to their Malaysian counterparts Chong Jie Yu/Vanessa Ng.

In the first game, the Indonesian pair performed convincingly and took the lead with a 21-16 win on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. The victory boosted Nahya/Nabila’s confidence going into the second game, as they prepared a new strategy to continue pressuring their opponents.

However, the second game unfolded differently from expectations. The Malaysian women’s doubles pair played more dominantly and leveled the match after winning the second game 21-13.

Entering the deciding game, both pairs engaged in a tactical battle. The Indonesian pair briefly took the lead and became involved in a tense point-by-point contest with the Malaysian representatives.

The loud support from Indonesian spectators further intensified the atmosphere of the match, which had been fiercely contested since the morning session. This encouraged the Indonesian women’s doubles pair to remain optimistic about winning the match.

In the final game, the match was briefly halted for a break and strategy discussion. After play resumed, the battle for points continued until the closing stages.

Eventually, the Malaysian pair Chong Jie Yu/Vanessa Ng secured victory by closing the third game with a narrow 21-19 score, ending the Indonesian pair’s run at the Indonesia Masters 2026.

Meanwhile, in the men’s singles event, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting is set to face Thailand’s Kunlavut Whangcharoen, scheduled for 12:10 p.m. Jakarta Time. (Diffa Sephiawardhani/Sri Wahyuni)
