RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian U-18 women’s national basketball team has advanced to the semifinals of the 2026 FIBA Asia Cup Division B after defeating Samoa 94-49 at Nimibutr Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday, July 17, 2026.
Indonesia dominated from the outset, applying relentless pressure that prevented Samoa from finding its rhythm.
Joanne Giovanni and Yemima led the scoring for Indonesia, each contributing 15 points in the victory.
Head coach Fredy praised the players’ fighting spirit and discipline in executing the game plan. “This victory is critical to boosting our players’ motivation and confidence ahead of the next match,” he said.
Lebanon awaits as Indonesia’s semifinal opponent after topping Group B.
