KBRN, Jakarta: Indonesian hurdler Dina Aulia won gold in the women’s 100-meter hurdles at the 2025 SEA Games on Friday, December 12, 2025, in Bangkok, delivering a strong and consistent performance that brings her closer to qualifying for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

Dina claimed the women’s 100-meter hurdles title on Friday, at Suphachalasai Stadium, Bangkok, clocking 13.21 seconds. Her performance not only reinforced Indonesia’s dominance in the event but also brought her closer to the Olympic qualification mark, which ranges between 12.70 and 12.77 seconds.

“My big target is to compete at the LA Olympics, and hopefully win a medal if possible,” Dina said after the race, in Bangkok, On Friday, December 12, as quoted by Antara.

She maintained a strong and consistent performance from start to finish, finishing ahead of fellow Indonesian Emilia Nova, who secured silver with a personal best of 13.27 seconds after recovering from two surgeries. Emilia’s previous best was 13.33 seconds at the 2018 Asian Games.

Dina’s victory in Bangkok also marked a significant turnaround from her SEA Games 2023 performance in Cambodia, where she won bronze behind two Vietnamese athletes, Huynh Thi My Tien and Bui Thi Nguyen. This year, Indonesian athletes claimed the top two positions.

“Alhamdulillah, the result is as expected. This medal is for myself, to motivate and appreciate my own efforts,” Dina added.

The achievement of Dina and Emilia received praise from Indonesian Youth and Sports Minister Erick Thohir, who highlighted the positive signs of athlete regeneration in the country.

“It’s great to see a proper regeneration process, with both senior and young athletes. This approach must continue without favoritism, the best athletes should always get the opportunity,” he said.

He added that similar patterns are emerging in other sports, including aquatics and badminton, where young athletes are increasingly able to compete at high levels. ***
