Indonesia’s Finance Ministry Gains to Anchor US$2.82 Billion 2027 Budget Proposal

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesia’s Ministry of Finance is utilizing its strong 2026 fiscal achievements as a baseline to anchor its Rp49.80 trillion or US$2.82 billion budget proposal for the 2027 fiscal year. Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa presented the comprehensive strategic plan during a parliamentary hearing in Jakarta on Monday, September 7, 2026.

"The positive performance of the Ministry of Finance in 2026 serves as the foundation for drafting the 2027 Work Plan," Minister Purbaya stated.

He emphasized that state budget management will continuously improve through targeted tax reforms and controlled deficit levels. This momentum builds on impressive first-half metrics, including state revenue growth of 21.3 percent year-on-year to Rp1,459.4 trillion or US$82.71 billion.

"State budgets must remain healthy, credible, and sustainable to function optimally as an economic shock absorber," he added.

He noted that future fiscal strategies will directly support high-value industrial transformation and social welfare programs. To execute these long-term objectives, the ministry established five core programs targeting revenue optimization, spending management, and digital system integration.

"This allocation is necessary to support the ministry's duty in maintaining fiscal stability and fostering inclusive economic growth," Purbaya emphasized.

He confirmed that institutional modernization efforts will also prioritize advanced tax oversight and streamlined public services. By securing these structural enhancements, the government aims to guarantee sustainable economic growth and long-term public prosperity.
