RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Indonesian Ombudsman is strengthening institutional integrity to ensure that public complaints and conflicts are resolved objectively and fairly.

The commitment was formalized through the signing of a Joint Commitment to Establish an Integrity Zone and a Statement of Commitment on Preventing and Managing Conflicts of Interest. These measures underscore that integrity is not only an internal governance principle, but also the foundation for resolving every public report.

Deputy Chairman Rahmadi Indra Tektona said strengthening integrity must go hand in hand with improving the quality of duty execution, particularly in accelerating the resolution of public reports.

“Our gathering today reaffirms our shared commitment that every public report is a mandate to uphold justice that cannot be delayed,” Rahmadi said while opening the National Coordination Meeting on the Resolution of Ombudsman Reports in South Jakarta on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

The meeting serves as a forum to evaluate report‑handling performance, identify obstacles, and formulate measures to accelerate the resolution of public complaints.

Rahmadi said Ombudsman personnel must optimize corrective actions starting from the examination stage by providing actionable follow‑up recommendations. The Ombudsman will prioritize report handling based on urgency and impact on the public.

Through this national meeting, the Ombudsman aims to resolve at least 90 percent of incoming reports by the end of the fiscal year. The target also aims to shorten examination duration and increase compliance among reported agencies in implementing Ombudsman recommendations.

To achieve this, Ombudsman personnel will streamline report-handling bureaucracy and simplify verification processes to ensure faster, more effective follow-up. Strengthened synergy with ministries, agencies, and local governments will also support faster resolution.

The Ombudsman urges reported institutions to act on suggestions and recommendations.

The institution will also maximize digital systems and real‑time, data‑driven report tracking. This digitalization is expected to enhance transparency, facilitate monitoring of case progress, and improve the effectiveness of complaint resolution.

A strong commitment to preventing and managing conflicts of interest remains essential. Ombudsman personnel must prioritize the interests of the state, the public, and public service above personal or group interests, and are prohibited from using their position for personal gain.

By reinforcing integrity and accelerating report handling, the Ombudsman reaffirms its role in ensuring that public complaints are resolved fairly, transparently, and with a focus on improving public services. (Misni Parjiati)
