Indonesian Air Force Deploys A400M for Forest and Land Fires in Kalimantan

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Air Force deployed an Airbus A400M A-4002 to transport 22 tons of logistical supplies to support forest and land fire response efforts in several areas of Kalimantan. The supplies were loaded on Saturday night and distributed on Sunday morning, August 23, 2026, with routes covering Banjarmasin, Palangkaraya, and Balikpapan.

The delivery was aimed at supporting response efforts in areas affected by forest and land fires.

PIC Airbus A400M A-4002, Lieutenant Colonel Putut Satriya, said the logistical supplies were loaded on Saturday night in preparation for distribution to several areas across Kalimantan.

“Tonight, we are loading and distributing a number of aid packages to support the response to forest and land fires in Kalimantan,” Putut said.

The 22 tons of supplies include various items needed for forest and land fire response, including water pumps, masks, and other supporting equipment. The assistance is intended to support firefighting efforts while helping protect communities affected by smoke and fires.

Putut Satriya expressed hope that the delivery would make a meaningful contribution to strengthening the response to forest and land fires while providing assistance to affected communities.

“We hope this assistance will make a meaningful contribution to forest and land fire response efforts in Kalimantan. We hope the fires can be brought under control soon so that people can safely and normally resume their activities,” he said.
