Indonesia, Belarus Ink Seven MoUs to Strengthen Ties

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia and Belarus are working together in various strategic sectors, from industry to agriculture to research and culture. These collaborations are expected to strengthen the partnership between the two countries.
The commitment was marked by the signing of seven memoranda of understanding (MoUs) and cooperation agreements at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Thursday, July 2, 2026, witnessed by President Prabowo Subianto and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
"Indonesia and Belarus are demonstrating their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations by agreeing to several cooperation documents today," said President Prabowo, as quoted on the State Secretariat’s official website.
President Prabowo hopes that these agreements will be implemented immediately to provide tangible benefits to the people of both countries.
"I hope this cooperation can be implemented immediately so that it provides tangible benefits in the near future for both countries," he said.
The agreements cover industrial cooperation between the Indonesian and Belarusian Ministries of Industry, as well as cultural cooperation between their respective Ministries of Culture. In the financial sector, the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the National Bank of Belarus established cooperation.
In the health sector, the Indonesian Ministry of Health and the Belarusian Ministry of Health agreed to strengthen collaboration. Meanwhile, the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) established scientific and technical cooperation with the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus to encourage the development of research and innovation.
The two countries agreed to exchange intelligence reports on money laundering, terrorism financing, and proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
The Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) and the Financial Monitoring Department of the State Control Committee of Belarus exchanged these reports.
Furthermore, the National Accreditation Committee of the Republic of Indonesia and the Belarusian State Center for Accreditation agreed to cooperate in the field of national accreditation to strengthen quality standards and product competitiveness of both countries.
In the long term, Indonesia and Belarus agreed on a roadmap for developing key areas of cooperation for 2026–2030. This document will serve as a guideline for developing strategic partnerships in various priority sectors over the next five years.
By implementing these agreements, the two countries hope to promote economic growth, encourage innovation, improve human resource capacity, and strengthen their bilateral relations. ***
