RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs, Djamari Chaniago, led the commemoration of International Anti-Narcotics Day (HANI) 2026 at the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) Rehabilitation Center in Lido, Bogor Regency, West Java. In a statement received by RRI VOI on Thursday, July 23, 2026, he emphasized that drug eradication is a national strategic commitment to realizing the vision of a Golden Indonesia 2045.
Djamari stated that the government will continue to protect the younger generation from the threat of substance abuse. "I repeat, drug eradication is an absolute requirement for realizing a Golden Indonesia 2045," said Djamari.
He assessed that these efforts will be carried out through strengthening the role of the BNN, prevention and early detection, and cross-ministerial collaboration to address drug crime and the emergence of new types of narcotics (NPS). "This is a form of firm national political and strategic commitment," said Djamari Chaniago.
The Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky, explained that his presence was a follow-up to a meeting with the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) on June 9, 2026, to expand education and mitigate drug risks. He emphasized the creative economy sector's commitment to protecting young people from the dangers of drug abuse.
He added that the creative economy is now a new engine of national economic growth, capable of channeling the potential of the younger generation in a positive way. "Providing a platform for positive and productive expression is crucial for young people to protect them from the dangers of drug abuse," said Teuku Riefky.
The Ministry of Creative Economy and the BNN agreed to strengthen collaboration through research, human resource development, outreach at the Creative Hub, educational content development, and entrepreneurship programs for the younger generation. This collaboration targets seven priority subsectors of the creative economy, considering that Generation Z and Millennials dominate 63 percent of the workforce in these sectors.
The Head of the BNN, Commissioner General Suyudi Ario Seto, emphasized that drug prevention and eradication are not only about law enforcement, but also about building resilience in the younger generation from an early age. The HANI 2026 theme, "Building a Healthy, Smart, and Strong Generation Through the Shining Ananda Movement Towards a Golden Indonesia 2045," according to him, is the foundation for cross-sector collaboration to break the root of socio-economic problems related to narcotics.
