Minister of Creative Economy Praises ArtMoments Jakarta 2026

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, affimed that fine arts play a strategic role in strengthening Indonesia's position globally. Fine arts are also a vital part of Indonesia's creative economy ecosystem.

The Minister of Creative Economy, made the statemen at the opening of ArtMoments Jakarta 2026 in Jakarta on Thursday, June 4, 2026. He stated that amidst rapid global change, art is a crucial medium for building connections, enriching perspectives, and strengthening cultural identity.

"Today's creative economy is not only about economic transactions, but also about how creativity becomes a nation's soft power. Artworks can build influence, open dialogue, and strengthen Indonesia's cultural identity in the eyes of the world," he said.

The Minister considered the theme of ArtMoments Jakarta 2026, "Intimacy of Offerings: Matter, Memory, and Connection," highly relevant to the current global situation. The theme encourages the public to re-examine the importance of human connections, cultural memory, and values passed down from generation to generation.

Teuku Riefky also appreciated ArtMoments Jakarta's consistent performance as a space that brings together artists, galleries, collectors, curators, and creative industry players from various countries. "The presence of international participants at this event demonstrates that Indonesia is increasingly being recognized in the global art conversation," he said.

According to a release received by Voice of Indonesia on Thursday, June 4th 2026, ArtMoments Jakarta, which will be open to the public from June 5-7, is targeting 25,000 visitors and is collaborating with approximately 75 exhibitors, with participation from 12 countries and dozens of leading art galleries.

Apart from showcasing international exhibitors, the main attraction of this event is the exhibition of legendary works from Indonesian artist maestros such as S. Sudjojono, Affandi, and Mochtar Apin.

The presence of the Minister of Creative Economy at ArtsMoments Jakarta 2026 emphasized the government's commitment to advancing the creative economy, particularly in the field of fine arts through the Deputy for Cultural Creativity at the Ministry of Creative Economy.
