RRI.CO.ID. Jakarta - The National Counter Terrorism Agency (BNPT) and Special Detacement of Anti-Terror Unit 88 of the Indonesian Police expand their cooperation to protect young people. They do this through child protection, digital literacy, and building stronger communities so that youth are ready to face changes in the digital world.

This cooperation was discussed at a book discussion titled “Gamification of Violence in Modern Terror in the Digital Era.” The event was held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, in South Jakarta. Government officials, security forces, academicians, psychologists, and technology experts attended.

BNPT Chief, General Commisioner Police. (Retired) Eddy Hartono, said that building community resilience in the digital era is a shared responsibility. Families, schools, the government, and communities all play an important role in creating a safe environment for young people to grow.

He said prevention must be done continuously through education, digital literacy, and early detection at the community level. This approach is in line with Law No. 5 of 2018, which focuses on national preparedness, counter-radicalization, and deradicalization as a joint effort across sectors. BNPT also encourages involvement from various groups through the Terrorism Prevention Coordination Forum and community-based programs.

Meanwhile, Chief of Special Detacement of Anti-Terror Unit 88, General Inspector Police. Sentot Prasetyo, stressed the importance of protecting children and strengthening their psychological resilience amid the fast-changing digital space.

The experts at the event shared similar views. Forensic psychologist Dr. Zora Arfina Sukabdi said early detection and psychological protection are very important.

Legal expert Prof. Harkristuti Harkrisnowo reminded that policies must respect human rights and be based on scientific evidence. Psychologist Dr. Ismail Fahmi added that digital literacy and data-based education are needed so people can use the internet more wisely.

The discussion concluded that protecting youth in the digital era requires strong collaboration between the state, families, schools, and society. The synergy between BNPT and Densus 88 showed that a safe future is built through education, protection, digital literacy, and cooperation from all parts of the nation.
