RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is matching Hajj pilgrim data to improve waiting list accuracy. The initiative was discussed during a coordination meeting with the Ministry of Home Affairs in Jakarta on Thursday, October 1, 2026.
The data matching program aims to validate and update population information for pilgrims currently on the Hajj waiting list. The process will integrate the ministry’s Integrated Hajj Computerized Information System (Siskohat) with the Ministry of Home Affairs’ population database.
The integration will verify key information, including national identity numbers, current addresses, population status, and inheritance records. The Indonesian government expects the process to ensure pilgrim information matches actual conditions and identities.
Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, said the data matching would protect pilgrims’ rights. He added that the system would also help prevent data manipulation and strengthen accountability in Hajj management.
“The data matching between Siskohat and Dukcapil (Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration) is a firm step to protect pilgrims’ rights while preventing data manipulation, changes, or data games that have been found in the past. We want to establish Hajj management based on data that is 100 percent accurate, transparent, and fully accountable,” Irfan said.
The ministry emphasized that the administrative process will not change pilgrims’ queue numbers or estimated departure years. Most data matching will also run automatically through the system without requiring pilgrims to complete additional procedures.
The ministry advised pilgrims to remain alert against individuals requesting fees, original documents, or passwords for data updates. The data matching process is completely free, while officials will contact pilgrims directly if significant discrepancies are found.
The meeting also discussed cooperation with regional governments on medical examinations for prospective Hajj pilgrims. The Indonesian government aims to ensure examinations meet medical standards while establishing reasonable and uniform examination fees.
Minister Irfan Yusuf also stressed the importance of maintaining medical examination quality across regions. He said standardized fees would help ensure costs remain reasonable and do not burden prospective Hajj pilgrims.
“Regarding medical examinations in the regions, we are paying serious attention to ensure they are properly conducted and meet existing medical standards. Beyond quality, we and the Ministry of Home Affairs will also ensure standardized examination fees. These fees must remain reasonable and uniform so they do not burden prospective Hajj pilgrims,” he said.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has expressed its readiness to support both strategic agendas. Technical coordination will continue to implement Siskohat-Dukcapil data matching and improve regional medical examination mechanisms.
