Ministry of Religious Affairs-LPOI Fosters Institutional Development

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s Minister of Religious Affairs met Officials of the Islamic Organizations Friendship Institution (LPOI) to build up synergy and institutional development. The meeting held at Istiqlal Mosque with representatives of the Islamic Organizations Friendship Institution in Jakarta on Monday, April 13, 2026.
Minister of Religious Affairs, Nasaruddin Umar, received Said Aqiel Siradj and LPOI leaders during the visit. The meeting discussed strategic programs aimed at strengthening Islamic institutions in Indonesia.
It also highlighted collaboration among Islamic organizations across different regions. LPOI presented several key agendas to the minister during the discussion session.
These included plans to establish a zakat management institution and a cyber-based Islamic university. The organization currently consists of 14 Islamic organizations across various provinces in Indonesia.
The minister expressed appreciation for LPOI’s success in bringing together diverse Islamic organizations. He affirmed the importance of strong synergy among organizations within one integrated system.
He said collaboration would create broader and more sustainable impacts.Before delivering his statement, the minister highlighted the need for unity among Islamic organizations.
He stressed that growth should happen collectively within a strong and coordinated system. He then conveyed his message during the meeting.
"Islamic organizations must grow together within one system so all components can develop collectively. LPOI will be very powerful if it collaborates," he said.
Regarding the plan to establish a zakat institution, the minister expressed full support for the initiative. He also reminded LPOI not to delay fulfilling all required administrative requirements. He encouraged the organization to focus on developing waqf programs with significant untapped potential.
