RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Indonesia’s Ministry of Defense held a send-off ceremony for prospective Reserve Component (Komcad) members from Civil Servants (ASN) of ministries and government institutions at the National Monument area, Jakarta, on Monday morning, April 13, 2026. These civil servants will take part in training and Reserve Component exercises at various Indonesian Military (TNI) and Ministry of Defense education and training centers.

The Head of National Reserve Agency of Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General TNI Gabriel Lema, after the send-off ceremony of the candidates, told the media that,“There are 2,000 civil servants who will take part in basic military training. The central point is our shared responsibility to the nation.”

“This morning we are entering the continuation stage of the selection process, which will proceed into training and education known as basic military training,” he conveyed.

Moreover, he explained that the activity is carried out collaboratively to ensure defense readiness in accordance with the government’s plans. Regarding the curriculum, Gabriel Lema underscored that the main focus is on character building and work discipline.

“The concept is simple: how we build character awareness, develop esprit de corps, and build up discipline in time management and activities,” he said.

In addition, he also ensured that the military materials provided remain measured and appropriate for civilians. “These military-oriented activities are intended to ensure that any command received can be carried out collaboratively within a unified system,” he conveyed.

The intensive training that these civil servants will undergo over the next six weeks is part of the formation of the Reserve Component (Komcad). The Komcad itself is a national resource prepared to reinforce the capabilities of the TNI when facing threats.

Moreover, Gabriel conveyed that the aim is to foster nationalism and improve the discipline of civil servants in carrying out public services. This program is designed so that each participant has the mental and physical readiness to face military threats or disasters, while still remaining within the scope of their duties as state apparatus.
