RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - To enhance the instincts and combat capabilities of the soldiers, personnel from the IX Naval Regional Command (Kodaeral IX) are undergoing long-range shooting training in a gradual, tiered, and continuous manner. The intensive training was held at the Talaga Kodok Shooting Range, Kodaeral IX, Leihitu, Central Maluku Regency, Maluku, on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.

Shooting practice using long-barreled weapons such as SS1-M1 and SS2-V4 is a routine part of the basic skill development for TNI AL Kodaeral IX personnel. This activity is focused on improving the precision, stability, and discipline of personnel in using organic weapons.

This program aims to improve basic shooting skills and combat readiness while honing personnel concentration in various conditions. Soldiers are required to hone their shooting accuracy in three positions: prone, sitting, and standing at a distance of 100 meters.

This shooting practice was attended by all personnel, from junior officers, non-commissioned officers, to enlisted personnel of the Kodam IX unit, in shifts over three days. The entire activity was directly supervised by professional shooting instructors from Kodaeral IX.

Commander of Naval Regional Command IX, Rear Admiral TNI Hanarko Djodi Pamungkas, stated that this activity aims to hone the basic skills of the soldiers and foster a sense of responsibility in their duties. "This training is one form of developing the skills of the TNI AL soldiers, especially Kodaeral IX, to remain professional and ready for every assignment," he said.

Through regular and directed training, this admiral, an advocate for maritime environmental issues, hopes that all personnel will be able to maintain and improve their shooting skills effectively. He also emphasizes to all personnel to strictly follow security procedures and to execute the instructor's instructions with high discipline during the training.

According to him, this long-range shooting practice serves as an evaluation tool for the unit to accurately assess the shooting proficiency of each personnel. The evaluation results will later be used as a basis for continuous training to support the overall operational readiness of Kodaeral IX.
