RRI.CO.ID, Lampung - The Ministry of Industry, continues to strengthen the development of the national halal ecosystem thru the enhancement of standardization and conformity assessment in public services, including in the sector of community nutrition fulfillment.

This effort is realized thru the halal product inspection audit activities for the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) Muara Jaya 2 in Pekon Kebon Tebu, West Lampung Regency, conducted by the Bandar Lampung Industrial Standardization and Service Center (BSPJI) thru the Main Halal Inspection Agency (LPH).

That step is part of the Ministry of Industry's genuine commitment to ensuring public services meet quality, safety, and halal standards, while also supporting the implementation of national halal industry development policies. The halal product audit is conducted thru comprehensive stages that include document verification, field inspections, raw material tracing, processing evaluation, and assessment of the implementation of the Halal Product Assurance System (SJPH).

In a press release received by RRI Voice of Indonesia on Thursday, 19 February 2026, Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita emphasized that halal certification plays a strategic role in enhancing public trust while also strengthening the competitiveness of national services and products. According to him, in supporting national strategic programs such as Free Nutritious Meals, halal certification not only fulfills regulatory obligations but also reflects the quality of processes, accountability, and good governance from upstream to downstream.

"The strengthening of the halal-based industry and services must be supported by a credible standardization and conformity assessment system. Thus, the public is assured that the services received are safe, of high quality, and in accordance with halal provisions." This is in line with the President's directive to ensure that national priority programs are implemented with the highest food safety standards," said the Minister of Industry in his statement on Thursday (19/2).

The Ministry of Industry also ensures that the strengthening of standardization is carried out in an integrated manner thru a network of technical implementation units in the regions. With this mechanism, the food supply chain involved in the national program can be ensured to have undergone a strict and measurable standardization process.

The Head of the Industrial Services Standardization and Policy Agency (BSKJI), Emmy Suryandari, stated that BSPJI, as a technical implementing unit, plays an important role in implementing the Kemenperin standardization policy, including in the field of halal product assurance. According to her, SPPG is at the forefront of fulfilling the nutritional needs of the community, so the integrity of halal in its implementation is non-negotiable.

Meanwhile, the Head of Industrial Standardization and Service Center (BSPJI) Bandar Lampung, Syamdian, explained that the implementation of halal certification for SPPG Muara Jaya 2 adds a tangible contribution from BSPJI in overseeing the quality of public services in Lampung Province. According to Syamdian, this achievement demonstrates the state's consistent presence in ensuring the safety of public consumption in various regions. BSPJI Bandar Lampung is committed to providing accurate, transparent, and accountable halal inspection services, while continuously expanding the reach of standardization and conformity assessment services for public service units and industry players.

In supporting SPPG to achieve the required quality standards, in addition to halal certification, BSPJI Bandar Lampung also offers HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) certification services, which can be audited simultaneously with halal certification. In addition, the environmental laboratory of BSPJI Bandar Lampung can also conduct tests on the quality of clean water used by SPPG in the cooking and serving process of MBG. "This will benefit and make it easier for SPPG to obtain 3 services at once in one application to meet their kitchen requirements, making it more effective and efficient," added Syamdian.

Through these continuous efforts, the Ministry of Industry is optimistic that the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit can become an important pillar in supporting the development of healthy, safe, and quality human resources, while also strengthening Indonesia's position as a global halal industry hub.
