RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Transportation Minister, Dudy Purwagandhi, and Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung , had a meeting to discuss Eid transportation readiness. The meeting at Jakarta City Hall on Wednesday, 18 February 2026, emphasized coordination with regional authorities ensuring smooth homecoming and return travel flows.

As quoted by Transportation Ministry website, Minister Dudy, said DKI Jakarta records one of the highest national population mobility levels annually. Most national homecoming trips originate from West Java and Jakarta toward several major destinations.

“Jakarta is among the regions with the highest population movement levels nationally,” Dudy said. He noted major destinations include Central Java, East Java, West Java, and Yogyakarta provinces.

Considering the large movement potential, he requested strong support from the Jakarta provincial government. Support includes monitoring posts, vehicle inspections, driver health checks, and free homecoming preparation programs.

He also encouraged improved feeder transportation access connecting terminals, stations, ports, and airports directly. Enhanced feeder services are expected supporting travelers using free homecoming transportation programs nationwide efficiently.

Traffic supervision and engineering arrangements should be implemented conditionally at congestion and crowd points. Authorities should ensure alternative routes readiness and security personnel deployment supported by CCTV monitoring.

Public information dissemination and safety campaigns are also required for private vehicle users nationwide. Additional public facilities at crowded transport nodes should support comfort during long journeys periods.

Based on the 2026 Eid Transportation Movement Survey, outbound Jakarta traffic is projected reaching 3.67 million vehicles total. While return traffic entering Jakarta during the same period is projected reaching 3.54 million vehicles total.
