RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto held a closed-door meeting with several ministers of the Red and White Cabinet at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday, 12 February 2026. During the session, the President emphasized the importance of strengthening the national fisheries industry ecosystem through shipyard consolidation and downstream development.

Following the meeting, the Head of the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency (BUMN), Dony Oskaria, issued a press statement at the Jakarta Presidential Palace on Thursday, 12 February 2026.

To optimize Indonesia's marine resources, Dony explained that the Kampung Nelayan Merah Putih (Red and White Fishing Village) will become an integral part of an ecosystem managed directly by the state-owned enterprise PT Agrinas Jaladri Nusantara.

“This is how we will optimize our marine and fisheries potential, ensuring that Jaladri focuses on increasing productivity within our fishing industry,” he said.

This integration is intended to ensure that Indonesia's marine resources are no longer managed in isolation. The transformation also extends to the downstream sector; Dony noted that this step will not only increase the added value of fisheries products but also create new jobs for coastal communities.

Dony further explained, “Jaladri will develop both the upstream and downstream sectors. Consequently, we will significantly develop derivative industries from our fisheries. This will lead to large-scale job creation in the future.”

To support this entire ecosystem, the government is also addressing the technical challenges of fleet availability. The consolidation of the shipping industry will be carried out independently, with a primary focus on increasing the production of national fishing vessels. This initiative aims to regain control over Indonesia's marine resources, which have largely been dominated by foreign interests.
