President Keeps Monitoring Sumatra Flood Recovery

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Cabinet Secretary, Teddy Indra Wijaya, said President Prabowo Subianto directly monitors flood recovery in Sumatra. He delivered the statement after a coordination meeting with disaster task forces and ministries.

He said the President requested regular public updates from task forces and ministers. The monitoring reflects continued attention to rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts.

“Mr President continues monitoring disaster recovery progress and wants all task forces and related ministers to provide regular public updates,” he said. The statement was delivered to journalists on Wednesday, 11 February 2026.

As quoted by Cabinet Secretary website, Entering two months after the disaster, significant rehabilitation progress has been recorded. The achievements resulted from collaboration between government, National Army, National Police, volunteers, and communities.

In the housing sector, 5,500 houses have been completed within two months. Around 1,500 houses were finished during the first month of recovery.

In infrastructure, authorities completed construction of 98 bridges across affected provinces. Additionally, 99 national road sections have resumed normal operations.

In the health sector, 87 hospitals have returned to service. 867 community health centers are also operating again.

Most health facilities have been functioning for last one month. Schools and markets have also resumed operations in affected regions.

The Cabinet Secretary emphasized the importance of accurate beneficiary data. He said the President ensures assistance reaches communities promptly.

With Ramadan approaching in one week, price stability receives attention. The President also monitors staple supply availability in disaster areas.

Moreover, Teddy Indra Wijaya added recovery acceleration was achieved through cross sector cooperation. “Going forward, we will continue achieving progress as quickly as possible,” he said.
