Indonesian Air Force's 1st Parako Brigade Tests Combat Capabilities

RRI.CO.ID, Lampung – The 1st Para Command Brigade conducted exercise to test the combat capabilities and professionalism of its soldiers through the exercise of Hardha Marutha 1 held on Wednesday 4 February 2026. This exercise utilized the Air Weapon Range (AWR) facilities located in Tulang Bawang Regency, Lampung Province.
In an official statement received by RRI VOI on Thursday, 5 February 2026, the Hardha Marutha 1 Exercise marked the culmination of the unit development program within the Parako 1st Brigade, the Rapid Movement Force, designed to improve combat readiness and operational capabilities of the Indonesian Air Force. The Commander of the 1st Parako Division, the Rapid Movement Force, First Marshal Ahmad Qodri, emphasized that this exercise has strategic value in developing the professionalism of the Rapid Movement Force Corps (Korpasgat) soldiers, encompassing physical and mental resilience, as well as discipline in operational execution.

During its implementation, the exercise of Hardha Marutha 1 encompassed various combat operation scenarios, presenting realistic training conditions. The personnel were trained to improve their skills in infiltration, assault, base capture and defense, hostage rescue, static parachuting, free-falling, wingsuit parachuting, and even rescue operations in combat situations.
Furthermore, the unit's capabilities were tested in facing the challenges of modern warfare, including air cover efforts using combat drones. The exercise was attended by 1,152 soldiers from the Rapid Response Force Corps and involved various major weapons systems, including C-130 Hercules and CN-295 transport aircraft, EC-725 Caracal helicopters, and NAS-332 Super Puma helicopters. The corps’ combat vehicles such as the P-6 ATAV, P2 Tiger, and various other military equipment.
On the same occasion, Commander of the 1st Parako Brigade of the Rapid Response Force, Colonel Helmi A. Nange, affirmed that this exercise was a test of the soldiers' overall readiness. "The Hardha Marutha 1 exercise is the top training of the personnel to maintain and improve the combat capabilities of soldiers, both individually and in units, so that they are ready to carry out operational tasks whenever needed," Colonel Helmi stated.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Vice Marshal Ir. Tedi Rizalihadi S, personally witnessed the Hardha Marutha 1 Exercise at the Air Weapon Range (AWR), Pangeran M. Bun Yamin Air Base, Tulang Bawang Regency, Lampung, on Wednesday, 4 February 2026.
After witnessing the exercise, Tedi Rizalihadi, reviewed the development of the 464th Lampung Parako Battalion. The development of this unit is part of an effort to reinforce the Indonesian Air Force's defense posture, particularly within the Rapid Response Force Corps ranks, to create an adaptive, modern, professional, and superior air force.
Through this exercise, it is hoped that the soldiers will become more adaptive, modern, professional, and superior, and able to respond quickly and appropriately to various forms of threats in every area operation. (Ahmad Faisal)
