Minister Sjafrie Leads Meeting With Forest Area Enforcement Task Force

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia's Minister of Defense, Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin chaired a meeting with the entire Forest Area Enforcement Task Force (Satgas PKH). The meeting took place at the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Building, Ministry of Defense, Jakarta on Monday, July 13, 2026.
The meeting was also attended by the highest-ranking law enforcement officials serving on the core leadership of the Task Force, including, Indonesia’s Minister of Defense who also as Chairperson of Steering Committee, Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin , Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), General Agus Subiyanto, Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia and Deputy Chairman I of the Satgas PKH Steering Committee, Burhanuddin, Head of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP), Muhammad Yusuf Ateh, Head of the Asset Recovery Agency of the Attorney General's Office, Kuntadi.
Spokesperson of the Forest Area Enforcement Task Force, Barita Simanjuntak to media underscored that the Task Force would take firm action against any violations involving its own personnel.
"An organization is defined not by individuals, but by a sound governance system. Law enforcement is a separate domain. Whenever the Task Force discovers indications of misconduct, it is obligated to immediately coordinate with and hand the case over to the law enforcement authorities represented within the Task Force," Barita Simanjuntak stated.

He also reaffirmed that Satgas PKH remains fully committed to carrying out its mandate in accordance with the Constitution and Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 5 of 2025. The Task Force was established as a key instrument in President Prabowo Subianto's broader initiative to eradicate illegal mining, illegal logging, and plantation-related criminal networks that cause significant losses to the state.
Barita also noted that the meeting prioritized the evaluation of the Task Force's operations and the strengthening of coordination among ministries and government agencies.
According to him, the forum focused on optimizing operational implementation, synchronizing programs, evaluating performance, and strengthening internal control and oversight mechanisms.
He added that Satgas PKH continues to carry out its mandate through close coordination between its Steering Committee and Executive Committee, while any developments regarding appointments to vacant positions will await an official statement from the Attorney General's Office.
