RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection of the Republic of Indonesia, Arifah Fauzi, underscored that women are key agents of change in national development. She delivered the statement during the Inspirational Women Talk event themed Empowered Women, Powerful Change in Jakarta on Tuesday, 27 January 2026.

The event was held as part of the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (BPOM).

Arifah stated that women should not only be positioned as beneficiaries of public policies, but also play an active role in driving change at the family and community levels.

She also affirmed that protecting the public through food and drug supervision is part of fulfilling basic rights, including the right to health and quality of life. “Women are not only beneficiaries of policies, but women are the main agents of change,” Arifah Fauzi said.

She added that this approach not only protects women, but also empowers women as part of the solution. Arifah Fauzi noted that women’s empowerment is directly linked to national human resource development efforts.

According to her, the role of women is a key factor in shaping the quality of future generations. “Women and children hold the most important and strategic positions in Indonesia’s journey toward Golden Indonesia 2045,” Arifah Fauzi said.

She noted that women play a role in ensuring that young generations grow into qualified and competitive individuals. In addition, Arifah Fauzi emphasized that strengthening the role of women is also necessary in public policy, including in food and drug supervision.

“The cross-ministerial and inter-agency collaboration, particularly with BPOM, needs to be strengthened,” she said.

Through the Inspirational Women Talk event themed Empowered Women, Powerful Change, the government reaffirmed its commitment to continuously improving women’s empowerment. The effort is part of the broader strategy to realize Golden Indonesia 2045.
