RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - National Development Planning Minister and Head of Bappenas Rachmat Pambudy has declared that all future national and regional development must be integrated under the Satu Data Indonesia (SDI) framework. The initiative aims to eliminate data fragmentation and ensure that every policy is supported by accurate, precise, and synchronized information.

Rachmat stressed that data only gains true strategic value when it is managed within a unified ecosystem. He likened the current push for data unification to the spirit of the 1928 Youth Pledge, calling for a “unification of national development data” to strengthen planning and decision-making.

“Future national development at the central and regional levels must increasingly be based on data that is reliable, accurate, precise, and integrated within One Data Indonesia,” he said during the SDI Collaboration event in Jakarta on Monday, January 26, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

Deputy for Digital Transformation at Bappenas, Vivi Yulaswati, added that Indonesia’s main challenge is not data availability but fragmentation and weak integration across sectors.

Through the SDI policy, the government has established a governance system at both national and regional levels, including the designation of data producers and stewards, the creation of data dictionaries and metadata, and mechanisms for secure data exchange through the Government Service Liaison System. These steps are intended to make data more accurate, integrated, and accountable for national development planning.

The collaboration event was attended by senior officials from ministries and agencies, local governments, academics, state-owned enterprises, and village representatives.

Bappenas emphasized that the presence of village heads underscored the importance of building a data-driven development system that reflects realities at the grassroots level, where public services begin.

Momentum for collaboration was marked by the signing of a Joint Circular Letter between Bappenas, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG) to standardize geospatial practices across regions.

Several memorandums of understanding and cooperation agreements were also signed to ensure that policymaking, monitoring, evaluation, and control are supported by research and innovation.

The government has further strengthened the SDI ecosystem through a partnership with the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) to conduct aerial photography for high-resolution mapping. This spatial data is expected to provide accurate and up-to-date information for urban planning, territorial management, and disaster risk mitigation.

For Bappenas, the initiative is a strategic foundation for achieving the National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN) 2025–2045, the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2025–2029, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By ensuring that development is guided by reliable and integrated data, the government aims to make Indonesia’s growth more effective, inclusive, and sustainable. ***
