RRI.CO.ID, Belu – Indonesia’s Defense Minister, Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, conducted a working visit to the Military Logistics Vocational Faculty (FVLM) of the Indonesian Defense University in Belu Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, on Thursday, 22 January 2026. The visit was aimed at strengthening defense vocational education in line with national defense needs.

The working visit was also intended to encourage the development of superior human resources, particularly in border regions. This effort reflects the government’s focus on integrating education with strategic defense priorities.

Upon arrival at the University, Minister Sjafrie received a presentation from the Dean of the Military Logistics Vocational Faculty regarding campus conditions and the implementation of the vocational education program. The presentation also covered cadets’ academic and non-academic achievements, as well as plans to develop supporting facilities and infrastructure for practice-based learning.

The briefing emphasized the strategic role of vocational education in preparing professional, skilled, and defense-ready human resources. Such education is considered vital in supporting national defense duties through a balance of knowledge and practical capability.

Following the presentation, the Minister of Defense personally inspected several campus facilities, including lecture halls, practice areas, and supporting facilities for cadet education. This inspection aimed to ensure that the education and training process meets standards and remains relevant to field requirements.

The inspection also highlighted the importance of vocational education that balances theory and practice. This approach is seen as essential in producing competent defense personnel.
