RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Vice Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Irene Umar, has encouraged the strengthening of Indonesia’s craft and visual communication design (VCD) subsectors through collaboration with local souvenir brand Sovlo. The initiative aims to expand market access, networks, and collaboration opportunities for creative economy players.

During an audience meeting with Sovlo at the Ministry of Creative Economy Office in Jakarta on Monday July 20, the Vice Minister discussed the development of TERASI (Teras Inspirasi) 2026 as a creative platform that brings together illustrators, business actors, and the public. The event is expected to strengthen the creative economy ecosystem, particularly in the craft and illustration subsectors.

She said TERASI serves as a strategic platform to connect various elements within the creative ecosystem through cross-sector collaboration. She underscored that the Ministry of Creative Economy is ready to collaborate with various hexahelix partners to provide wider market access, networks, and opportunities for creative economy players.

“TERASI is an excellent space to bring illustrators, business actors, and the community together in one creative ecosystem. The Ministry of Creative Economy is ready to collaborate TERASI with various hexahelix partners so more creative economy players, especially those in the craft and illustration subsectors, can gain access to markets, networks, and broader collaboration opportunities,” Irene said.

Sovlo is a local souvenir brand that provides a platform for Indonesian illustrators to create works inspired by the cultural richness of the archipelago. The artworks of local illustrators are featured on various creative products, including bags, clothing, accessories, and lifestyle products.

Meanwhile, TERASI is an annual event organized by Sovlo as an art exhibition and creative market that promotes Indonesian culture through the works of dozens of local illustrators. In addition to an art market, the event features various interactive programs, including artist collaborations, art installations, drawing competitions, workshops, traditional dance classes, immersive wall painting, art performances, creative talks, and other creative activities.

Sovlo Marketing Manager Sarah Celina explained that TERASI has evolved from a celebration of Sovlo’s anniversary into a collaborative space for the creative community. Celebrating Sovlo’s sixth anniversary, TERASI 2026 carries the theme “6row Together,” reflecting the spirit of growing together through collaboration with illustrators, visitors, customers, and creative partners.

TERASI 2026 will take place from August 13–17, 2026, at Agora Mall, Jakarta, and will be open to the public. Through the event, Sovlo and the Ministry of Creative Economy hope to encourage greater appreciation for Indonesian creative economy products while creating new opportunities for craft and illustration communities to grow and contribute to the national creative economy.
