RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Vice Minister of Communication and Digital, Nezar Patria in Central Jakarta, Thursday, 22 January 2026, stated that the recovery of digital infrastructure in disaster-affected areas in Aceh continues to show positive progress. As of now, the availability of telecommunications networks in Aceh has reached approximately 99 percent.

In a press release issued on Thursday, 22 January 2026, Nezar emphasized that the government is prioritizing the restoration of telecommunications networks to ensure that public services and community activities can resume optimally. This progress is in line with the improvement of electricity supply in several affected areas.

“During the recovery period, in accordance with the duties and functions assigned to the Ministry of Communication and Digital to restore telecommunications networks in Aceh, we have now restored networks across all disaster-affected areas in Aceh,” he said.

According to him,”Reports from the field show that the availability (uptime) of telecommunications networks in Aceh has currently reached around 99 percent.” Vice Minister Nezar said.

Nevertheless, he stressed that the government continues to conduct intensive monitoring, particularly in areas that suffered severe disaster impacts. Improvements in network service quality are being carried out gradually, taking into account technical conditions on the ground.

According to Nezar, telecommunications networks in Aceh are showing a consistent improvement trend and are gradually returning to normal operation. In heavily affected areas such as Aceh Tamiang, network availability currently stands at 92 percent, while in Central Aceh it has reached approximately 96 percent.

“Especially in heavily affected areas such as Aceh Tamiang, we continue to carry out monitoring. Currently, network availability there stands at 92 percent, while in Central Aceh it is around 96 percent. Other regions are also continuing to improve, but conditions are already above 90 percent. Overall, telecommunications networks in Aceh have improved along with the recovery of electricity supply,” Nezar stated.

He also revealed that a small number of telecommunications infrastructure facilities have suffered technical damage due to flooding. The damage is limited in nature and is currently being addressed in the next phase of recovery.
