RRI.CO.ID, Tangerang - The Indonesian government, through the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections, has distributed clean water development assistance worth approximately USD 110,000 for communities affected by disasters. The program aims to improve access to basic water facilities in areas experiencing urgent humanitarian needs.
Minister of Immigration and Corrections Agus Andrianto in Tangerang City, Banten, Tuesday, 20 January 2026, announced the assistance. The initiative forms part of the government’s broader efforts to strengthen public services in disaster-prone regions.
He stated that the implementation of the program will involve all correctional and immigration units across the country. These units are tasked with identifying beneficiary locations based on the level of community needs and local conditions.
He also explained that each project site will receive funding adjusted to on-the-ground requirements. Priority will be given to disaster-affected areas where access to clean water remains limited.
“The allocation will be around USD 1,600 to 1,900 per location, and hopefully the total collected amounts to slightly more than USD 110,000,” Agus said. He added that funds gathered from immigration personnel and recent harvest activities under correctional programs were fully committed to affected communities.
According to the minister, the assistance reflects a collective commitment within the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections. “All proceeds were agreed to be donated entirely to residents impacted by disasters,” he said.
