KBRN, Jakarta: Indonesian National Police Chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo stated that law enforcement against organized crime will not be influenced by the symbols of certain mass organizations (ormas). He acknowledged that the phenomenon of organized crime disguised as ormas has been emerging in various regions.

The National Police, therefore, is taking decisive action against all forms of thuggery that disrupt public order. The Police Chief emphasized that any group or individual engaging in criminal activities will face strict enforcement measures.

"Whoever it is, as long as they disturb the public, we will not compromise. We will take firm action," he stated after opening the Technical Working Meeting (Rakernis) of the National Police's Baharkam (Security Maintenance Agency) and Brimob (Mobile Brigade) at the Police Science College (STIK) PTIK in Jakarta on Thursday, May 15, 2025.

The Police Chief said that the National Police is currently focusing on safeguarding government programs aimed at fostering economic growth and expanding investment. Consequently, crackdown on thuggery will target those disrupting industrial activities.

According to him, the National Police must work in synergy to uphold government policies outlined in Astacita, as well as the vision and mission initiated by President Prabowo Subianto. "This is our collective commitment to protect and support economic growth and investment while also seeking solutions," he stated.

He also instructed his field staff to consistently communicate with the community to gain a deeper understanding of their concerns, particularly regarding instances of thuggery.

"Be able to respond quickly in accordance with our duties in protecting, nurturing and serving the community in the field of security and other matters," he concluded. ***
