RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Ministry of Creative Economy and the Indonesian Creative Economy Agency have formalized a strategic initiative to integrate domestic musical talent into the global entertainment market through high-profile, cross-border industry collaborations.
Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, hosted an official audience with independent singer-songwriter Lullaboy at the Ministry’s headquarters in Jakarta on Friday, June 19, 2026. The meeting focused on unlocking regional commercial corridors for Indonesian creators by piggybacking on high-impact international music tours.
During the dialogue, Deputy Minister Irene highlighted that musicians possessing deep multicultural backgrounds serve as critical assets for expanding the market footprint of Indonesia’s creative economy.
"The Ministry of Creative Economy is committed to facilitating local creators to synergize and expand their market reach through global collaboration. The presence of musicians with strong multicultural profiles like Lullaboy opens up significant opportunities for Indonesian creative products and musical talents to participate in the regional ecosystem," she said during an audience at the Ministry of Creative Economy Office in Jakarta on Friday, June 19, 2026, as quoted on ministry's official website.
Through this collaborative framework, the Ministry and Lullaboy's management team are mapping out cross-sector partnerships designed to maximize the economic value of national creative assets during upcoming international activations.
The state's backing will include streamlining administrative protocols for performing crews, optimizing digital and physical promotional campaigns via Indonesian Embassies (KBRI) abroad, and anchoring corporate partnerships with national airlines and local creative brands.
"We will explore various forms of support for lullaboy's regional and global tour plans, especially in assisting the smooth administration of performers, optimizing promotions through Indonesian Embassies abroad, and opening partnership opportunities with national airlines and local creative brands. This momentum is a strategic platform to introduce tourism destinations, local talent, and Indonesian cultural innovation to the global stage through mutually beneficial cross-sector collaborations," Irene Umar added.
The collaborative talks specifically align with Lullaboy’s upcoming regional concert series, titled the Hotels & Heartbreaks Tour, launched in tandem with his highly anticipated third studio album exploring themes of love, loss, and self-healing.
Lullaboy, an independent Berklee College of Music alumnus of Indonesian Chinese descent, has already accumulated over 200 million streams across global digital platforms, making him a formidable vessel for regional creative exports.
The singer's management expressed immense optimism following the government briefing, emphasizing that state synergy injects crucial logistical and promotional momentum into independent touring circuits.
"We are very pleased to discuss directly with the Deputy Minister, as we gained many new insights for embarking on this tour. The support and synergy from the Ministry of Creative Economy will certainly strengthen the collaborative message we want to bring in this regional tour expansion, including during the Jakarta performance on July 18," stated lullaboy's Manager, Cindy Clarissa Adriaan.
The Hotels & Heartbreaks Tour is scheduled to sweep across nine major Asian metropolitan hubs between July and August 2026. The concert circuit will officially kick off in Kuala Lumpur on July 15,2026, before advancing through Manila, Jakarta, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Taipei, Tokyo, and Seoul. The regional tour will reach its grand finale in Singapore on August 17, 2026. ***
