RRI.CO.ID, Hyderabad – Indonesia's Minister of Manpower, Yassierli, encouraged the exchange of experiences with India in digital talent development, technological innovation, and worker skills enhancement. According to him, the development of digital technology has brought about major changes in workforce competency requirements.

These efforts were among the topics discussed by Yassierli during a bilateral meeting with Indian Minister of Labor Mansukh Mandaviya on the sidelines of the BRICS Labor and Employment Ministers’ Meeting (LEMM) in Hyderabad, India, on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

Yassierli expressed his appreciation to the Indian government for successfully organizing a series of events addressing various strategic labor issues, including the future of work, digital transformation, social protection, and skills development. He also noted that collaboration with India is key to strengthening the quality of the workforce in the modern era.

“Indonesia views India as a key partner in human resource development. As two major developing countries with dynamic economies and large young populations, Indonesia and India have the opportunity to share experiences in building a competitive, inclusive workforce that is ready to face changes in the world of work,” Yassierli said, as quoted in a ministry press release.

During the meeting, he also expressed his interest in learning from India’s experience in building a digital ecosystem that plays a role in job creation, skills development, innovation, and technology-based investment. Yassierli also wants to learn about the development of data centers, digital infrastructure, and various AI skills enhancement initiatives involving the government, business organizations, and industry.

“Digital transformation must be accompanied by human resource readiness. Therefore, AI talent development, strengthening digital competencies, and reskilling and upskilling programs are essential so that workers can adapt to and capitalize on opportunities arising from technological change,” he said.

He said that the exchange of experiences between Indonesia and India could focus on a number of priority areas, including capacity building for vocational training instructors in the fields of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), AI, and other digital technologies. He emphasized that Indonesia is open to expanding knowledge exchange with India through technical exchanges, expert dialogues, study visits, joint capacity-building programs, and institutional partnerships between the ministries and training institutions of both countries.
