Jupiter Aerobatic Team Finalizes Preparations for RBAF Anniversary

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Jupiter Aerobatic Team (JAT) of the Indonesian Air Force conducted their first training session in preparation for their performance at the 65th Anniversary of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam, on Saturday, May 30, 2026.
Previously, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal M. Tonny Harjono, along with the Jupiter Aerobatic Team, departed from Lanud Anang Busra, Tarakan, heading to Brunei Darussalam on Friday, May 29, 2026. In that flight, the Air Force Chief of Staff was also on one of the KT-1B Woongbi aircraft with Major I Putu Satrya Kedaton as a form of support for the international assignment undertaken by the pride of the Indonesian Air Force aerobatic team.
Upon arrival at Brunei International Airport (BWN), the Air Force Chief of Staff and his entourage were welcomed with an honor guard. The presence of the Air Force Chief of Staff also demonstrates the full support of the TNI AU leadership for the participation of the Jupiter Aerobatic Team in the military celebration of the friendly country.

The first training session was led directly by the Flight Leader of the Jupiter Aerobatic Team, Lieutenant Colonel Ari Nugroho Widodo. In that session, The Jupiters showcased various precision aerobatic maneuvers to refine the readiness of the personnel and aircraft before their performance at the peak of the 65th RBAF anniversary celebration.
A total of six KT-1B Woongbi aircraft were flown in a series of exercises showcasing the flying capabilities, formation cohesion, and professionalism of the Indonesian Air Force pilots. All maneuvers were carried out in a measured manner to ensure a high level of accuracy and safety during the official performance.
The Jupiter Aerobatic Team is scheduled to perform an aerial demonstration at the peak of the 65th anniversary celebration of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, which will take place on May 31, 2026. The performance serves as a platform to showcase the professionalism of the Indonesian Air Force pilots while also strengthening the friendship and defense cooperation between Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam.
The participation of The Jupiters in the celebration also forms part of Indonesia's defense diplomacy thru professional military interactions, as well as a means to showcase the capabilities of the Indonesian Air Force on an international level.
